Counselor I/II/III, Academic (Athletics)

The successful candidate will serve as part of a comprehensive team in Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS). SASS promotes, assists, and provides counsel to Auburn University student-athletes in the areas of academics, eligibility, admissions, career counseling and life skills. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: provides advising/counseling and support to student-athletes in matters related to academic goals, study skills, choice of curriculum, course load, and course scheduling; identifies at risk students making referrals to other professionals when appropriate; evaluates student-athlete progress to ensure eligibility in accordance with University, SEC, and NCAA guidelines; instructs student-athletes on issues related to personal development; provides information to coaches concerning student-athletes', prospective student-athletes' needs, and academic/eligibility issues. Minimum Qualifications Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Counseling, Education, Business, Sports Management, or related field. Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in advising or counseling is required.

Desired Qualifications: Ph.D. or Ed.D.; extensive experience in a higher education setting preferably with Division I student-athletes; ability to interpret disability documentation; training in specific study strategy assessments; experience with educational assessment tools; strong knowledge of college student development theory; and knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations, specifically those pertaining to eligibility.

Assistant Swimming Coach

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree desired. Must have at least 3 years experience at NCAA Division I level or 5 years experience as Senior USS.

Proven coaching, recruiting, organizational and administrative qualities are needed in this position along with strong communication skills.The selected candidate must be able to work effectively within the rule structure of Auburn University, the Southeastern Conference, and the NCAA.

Associate Director, Athletics Media Relations
Department - Athletic Department Support

Position Summary
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: acting as a liaison between the athletic department and all media outlets; writing and editing of press releases, media guides and game notes; maintenance of statistics, records and photo archive; assisting the director in planning and organizing all phases of media information department. Applicant must have a clear understanding of NCAA rules. Travel required, with additional evening and weekend hours required. The Associate Director will work directly with the women's basketball program and other sports assigned by the Asst AD for Media Relations.

Minimum Qualifications
Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field plus five years experience in public relations, media relations, and/or communication services. Knowledge of media, media relations concepts and principles, print and electronic media outlets, and accurate writing skills are required.

Desired Qualifications
Masters degree preferred in Journalism, Communications, or related field, with extensive Athletics Media Relations experience.
